Mobile app development for iOS and Android
We build cross platform apps that ship to both stores from one codebase, and native apps when the project genuinely needs them.
Web Design Alchemy handles mobile app development for startups and established companies across the USA. Scoping, build, API work, testing on real devices and store submission all sit with one team. Most clients start with an MVP, put it in front of users, and let the data decide what version two contains.
- Fixed scope and fixed price per phase
- Weekly builds you can install and use
- Store accounts stay in your company name
- Documented code another team could take over
A fair number of app ideas should not be apps
Getting someone to install and keep an app is hard. If your product does not need the camera, offline access, push notifications or a home screen icon people will actually tap weekly, a responsive web app usually reaches more users for a third of the cost. We will say so on the first call. It has cost us projects and saved clients a great deal of money, and the ones who listened are still customers.
What every app build includes
Six workstreams, priced in from the start rather than discovered at week nine.
Technical scoping
Interface build
Backend and integrations
Testing on real devices
Store submission
Post launch support
Frameworks and when each one fits
Cross platform for most projects, native when the app genuinely needs it. The choice changes your budget more than any other decision.
React Native
Our React Native development agency work covers most business apps. One codebase, both stores, roughly 60 percent of the cost of building twice.
Flutter
Flutter app development company work for products where interface polish and animation matter, or where the design is unusually custom.
Native iOS and Android
iOS and Android app development services in Swift and Kotlin, for apps leaning hard on hardware, background processing or platform specific features.
Backend and APIs
Node or Laravel backends, or connecting to what you already run. Authentication, sync and offline behaviour handled properly rather than bolted on.
Regulated sectors
Healthcare app development services and fintech app development services, where compliance shapes the architecture from day one rather than at audit.
Business and internal
B2B mobile app development for field teams, ordering, inventory and anything replacing a clipboard or a spreadsheet.
Start with a paid discovery sprint
Two weeks, $3,500, and you leave with user stories, a technical architecture, a screen inventory and a fixed price for the build. Take it to another agency if you want a second quote. If you build with us, the fee comes off the project.
Our app development process, stage by stage
You install a working build every week from stage three onwards.

Questions founders ask before commissioning an app
How much does it cost to build a mobile app?
An MVP with a core flow starts at $18,000 here and a full product at $45,000. The variables that move the number are integrations, whether you need a custom backend, and how much has to work offline. Screen count matters far less than people expect. Anyone quoting $5,000 is either using a template builder or has not read your requirements.
React Native or native, which should we use?
Cross platform for most business apps, because you get both stores for roughly 60 percent of the cost of building twice, and users cannot tell the difference. Go native when the app leans hard on hardware, heavy background processing or platform specific features. We recommend based on your feature list, not on what we prefer writing.
How long does an app take to build?
Eight to ten weeks for an MVP, sixteen to twenty for a full product. Integrations with systems you do not control are the usual reason a timeline slips, so we identify those in discovery and flag the risk before you commit.
Do you handle App Store and Play Store submission?
Yes, including listing copy, screenshots, privacy declarations and responding to review rejections. Both stores reject first submissions regularly for reasons that have nothing to do with quality. We have been through it enough to avoid the common ones.
Who owns the code and the store accounts?
You do. Developer accounts are opened in your company name from day one, the repository is yours, and the code is documented so another team could take it over. Agencies that hold your store account are holding your product hostage.
What happens after launch?
Every site we build is mobile responsive as standard, not as an add-on. We design mobile layouts alongside desktop rather than shrinking a desktop page down, and we test on real devices before launch.
Can you take over an app someone else built?
Yes. Our legacy app rebuild services start with an audit of the codebase. Sometimes it is maintainable and cheaper to continue, sometimes a rebuild costs less than fighting it for two years. We tell you which honestly, including when the honest answer is that the original team did good work.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, before any detail is discussed. Send yours or use ours. We work on competing products in the same sector only with both clients informed, and we will tell you upfront if that applies.
Do you design the app as well as build it?
Yes. If you arrive with Figma files we build from those. If not, our design team covers user flows, prototypes and screens first, quoted as part of the same project.
