Ecommerce websites designed to sell, not just to look good
Most stores lose the sale between the product page and the payment screen. That gap is where we work.
Web Designs Alchemy provides ecommerce website design and development, plus Shopify store design services, for brands across the USA. We handle the whole thing: product and category templates, checkout, payments, tax, shipping rules and the integrations that keep your stock accurate. We work with catalogues from a dozen products up to several thousand SKUs.
- Checkout tested with live orders before launch
- Product pages built for mobile buying first
- Fewer paid apps, so your monthly costs stay low
- Store, theme code and every login belong to you
Already selling? Your rankings come with you
Replatforming scares people because badly handled migrations wipe out organic traffic. We map every product and collection URL to its new address before the switch, keep your structured data intact, and watch Search Console daily for 30 days afterwards. Ask us for the migration checklist we work from.

Shopify or WooCommerce, and how to tell which suits you
The honest answer depends on your catalogue, your team and your margin. Here is how we decide it with clients.
Shopify
Best for most brands under 1,000 SKUs. We provide custom Shopify theme development services rather than reselling a bought template, so your storefront is not identical to a thousand others.
Shopify Plus
We work as a Shopify Plus development agency for brands past roughly $1 million a year, where checkout customisation, multiple storefronts and B2B pricing tiers start to pay for themselves.
WooCommerce
Our WooCommerce website development services suit brands already on WordPress, publishing heavily, or needing pricing and shipping rules Shopify will not bend to. Lower platform fees, more maintenance.
Headless Shopify
Shopify handles the orders, a custom front end handles the speed. Headless Shopify development services are justifiable above roughly 100,000 monthly visitors, rarely below it.
B2B and wholesale
Customer specific pricing, net terms, minimum order quantities and quote requests. We handle B2B ecommerce website development on either platform.
Subscriptions
Shopify subscription app setup covering recurring billing, swap and skip, and dunning for failed cards. We will tell you which app is worth its monthly fee and which is not.
Our ecommerce development process, stage by stage
Catalogue work starts on day one, because it is what holds most store projects up.

Questions founders ask before commissioning an app
How much does an online store cost to build?
A first store with a small catalogue runs $6,500 to $15,000 here. Migrations and stores needing stock or ERP integration start around $18,000. The three things that move the price are product count, how clean your product data is, and how many systems have to talk to each other.
Shopify or WooCommerce, which should I pick?
Shopify for most brands, because hosting, PCI and payment disputes stop being your problem. WooCommerce when you already run WordPress, publish heavily, or need pricing rules it will not bend to. We give you a recommendation with the reasoning, not just a preference.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I move platforms?
Not if the migration is done properly. We map every product, collection and blog URL to its new address, keep title tags and structured data intact, and monitor Search Console daily for 30 days. Most clients see a dip in week one that recovers inside 4 to 6 weeks.
How long does a store take to build?
Four weeks for a small catalogue on a fresh build. Eight to ten when we are migrating data or connecting stock systems. Getting your product information clean is usually the slowest part, and we tell you upfront exactly what format we need it in.
Do I have to pay for lots of apps every month?
We build features into the theme where we sensibly can, so you are not renting basic functionality. When an app genuinely is the better answer we say so and tell you the monthly cost before you commit. Most stores we launch run 3 to 5 paid apps rather than fifteen.
Can you work with my existing catalogue data?
Yes. Send a CSV export or give us access to your current platform and we will map it across. If the data is messy we will quote the cleanup separately rather than quietly absorbing it into the build.
Who owns the store when we finish?
You do, from final payment. The platform account is in your name from day one, the theme code is yours, and you hold every login. We never hold a store hostage to keep a client.
Do you handle product photography or copy?
Not in house. We will tell you the image sizes and the copy each template needs, and we can recommend photographers and writers we have worked with. Design waits on nothing if you get those two moving early.
What support do I get after launch?
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
